Brainwaves + Potential

“Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is physics.”

~ Einstein

Brainwaves + Tapping into our Potential

The quote above is from Albert Einstein. For many years, I have been fascinated by brainwaves and meditation, and how we can alter our overall health using simple tools, like meditation, breathwork (pranayama), movement, and sound. These tools allow us to transition from our the Gamma or Beta world we live in, to healing Theta and Delta. Through this, we are given a chance for our body to naturally heal and tap into our intuition, for creativity and clarity. It’s truly incredible how much power we have, and can continue to harness. The below Hertz (Hz) are approximates.

Our Brainwaves or States of Consciousness

Gamma (38-42Hz)

Gamma is the fastest frequency, associated with highly active states – processing much information and integrating thoughts. It is the only level found throughout the brain. It has been associated with Bliss or Samadhi states that healers and athletes access in their ‘work’, and all do during parts of dreaming. At this point we are in a flow state and able to process much information at once. Achieving this state in a blissful manner, takes practice in meditation or focus. If functioning well, it is associated with good memory and natural flow. If not, this is often correlated with learning challenges and agitation. The benefits of being able to access this state are quite profound, as we are fully aware during our waking lives, yet fully connected for truly intelligent decision making. It was also found that those achieving these states experience greater joy, peace, and love.

Beta (12-38Hz)

During Beta we are active and alert – this is our normal rhythm throughout the day. Beta is broken in to Low, Mid, and High states. This state is associated with problem solving, listening, and decision making. When healthy, we are mentally alert and focused. Conversely, if Beta is not functioning optimally, this can be associated with ADD behaviour.

Alpha (8-12Hz)

Alpha is associated with calm and productivity. We are able to integrate information around us in a manner of ease. We are active and conscious, yet relaxed and able to learn and absorb information. When we begin our meditation, we are in this state.

Theta (3.5-7.5Hz)

When we are able to easily recall information, feeling intuitive and creative, we are in Theta. We are present, but in a bit of a dream-like state. If we live our lives in this state, we are seen as daydreaming. It is in this state that the body is able to begin healing and processing. During Craniosacral and Somatoemotional Therapy, we are in this state and able to allow our subconscious to process consciously – hidden memories stored in our body come to the surface for release. Throughout the day, we are in Theta naturally twice – as we are waking, and sleeping. For this reason, it is highly beneficial to meditate upon waking – allowing deep processing and helping set up our day for ease. This is a sample of of a Theta tone.

Delta (0.5-3.5Hz)

During the Delta or Slow Wave Sleep, we are in our deepest state of sleep and our body becomes immobile. During this phase our body repairs itself, integrates what we have learned, and our nervous system can be changed. Here is an example of the Delta Tone. Definitely a great way to dive into your meditation, but I would recommend working from Alpha & Theta into this frequency. It has been studied that as we age our time spent in this state decreases (from a general peak of about an hour under 40) so it is important to develop the ability to be in this state to allow yourself to be in optimal health.

Infra-Low

Infra-low, or Slow Corticol Potentials, is currently being researched. This state is below 0.5Hz and seems to be the underlying wave of our higher functioning.

Your Optimal Health

Going back to the original quote in the image – ‘Everything is energy’. Our environment, our homes, our bodies and everything we put in and on our bodies. It is important to be aware of what we are absorbing into our bodies and minds as both food, thought, and sound have frequencies. Fresh produce is between 10-15 MHz, and fresh herbs from 20-27 MHz. Truly Therapeutic grade essential oils are between 52-320 MHz, with Rose, Helichrysum, Frankincense, and Lavender being amongst the highest. This excerpt below demonstrates this quite clearly:

“Initially, the frequency of each of two different individuals – the first a 26 year old male and the second a 24 year old male was measured at 66 MHz for both. The first individual held a cup of coffee (without drinking any) and his frequency dropped to 58 MHz in 3 seconds. He then removed the coffee and inhaled an aroma of essential oils. Within 21 seconds, his frequency had returned to 66MHz. The second individual took a sip of coffee and his frequency dropped to 52MHz in the same 3 seconds. However, no essential oils were used during the recovery time and it took 3 days for his frequency to return to the initial 66MHz.

Another very interesting result of this study was the influence that thoughts have on our frequency as well. Negative thoughts lowered the measured frequency by 12 MHz and positive thoughts raised the measured frequency by 10MHz. It was also found that prayer and meditation increased the measured frequency levels by 15 MHz.” (Isara.com – Essential Oils and Frequency)"

Tapping into Your Full Potential

Everything vibrates with a frequency. For this reason, it’s important to be cognizant of our environments, including others in it. When you feel a positive or negative vibe – that is literally what your body is picking up on.

A healthy human brain functions at 71-90 MHz (1000 Hz is equivalent to 0.001 MHz). When we have a cold, this drops to 58 MHz. When we begin to leave our bodies, this drops further to 25 MHz.

Meditation, and meditative forms of yoga (Yin, Restorative, Nidra) are wonderful ways to train your body to quieten the mind, aiding you in being able to access healing states of mind or even Gamma and Samadhi or psychic potential. Try listening to some of these sounds and Solfeggio frequencies at work to keep energy balanced and heal your body through frequency! They are also great for restless minds before bed.
