Speaking Engagements
I share insights and practical tools grounded in science, related to burn out, social emotional learning, somatic healing, parenting from the heart, and more. I have spoken for school districts, virtually for varying size groups, and in person for small to large organizations. Please send requests via email and I would be happy to further discuss your organizations needs: katie@glowithin.ca
I was given the gift of breathwork and meditation as a child by my Mother, and discovered what I now knows as Somato-Emotional Release (moving emotions through our body) to support me with overwhelming emotions. As a Highly Sensitive Person prone to anxiety and ADHD tendencies, having these tools at a young age has helped me to be present and work through challenging experiences, so as to not store them in my body... and spurred my passion for formally studying the nervous system to prevent and resolve concerns at their root. These tools have supported my resilience and ability to stay aligned with my intuition and gifts – my gloWithin.
Children naturally embody their gloWithin, and as conscious parents we strive to honour this as we guide them on their journey… but are we honouring this in ourselves?
As a teen I recognized our lifestyles were not conducive to thriving families, which inspired me to create Studio 202, a healing community space in North Vancouver, Canada. In 2020 I closed this space due to Covid and it was the source of my postpartum anxiety with my eldest. After completing a challenging contract as an Executive Director (which led to burnout), I realized I needed to focus on my passions and brought my offerings online. Miraculously we had our youngest during this time, but do to lack of sleep for a year I struggled with a very humbling postpartum. This is what prompted me to finally pursue my Masters in Counselling. I am telling you this, because while our situations are unique, we are together in this human experience and with connection and the right support, we can find deep healing.
Being a Highly Sensitive introvert poses interesting challenges in parenting. While we are highly attuned to the needs of our children, it's also essential to nurture ourselves regularly so we don't become overwhelmed and can hold space for them. This comes from someone who has burned out three times, and learned deeply from these experiences to tune into her body and be her own advocate. I am passionate about being active in nature, exploring the arts (music, dance, creating), and love spending time with my family.
I look forward to connecting with you on this journey!
I enjoyed the visualization. I felt I was right there with you during your journey. Nice pausing, voice inflection, and storytelling.

Having been in a coma for 8 days, I could relate to your out-of-body experience and the lessons you learned. I loved how you embodied your message and how confidently you showed up. WOW.
ELAYNA
Katie, I loved that you brought the audience to an action step in real time. That is a very powerful way of engagement and not often used. Keep it up!

What do I do as a Somatic Parenting Coach?
My background as a Craniosacral and Yoga instructor is deeply rooted in our nervous system, which governs our physical, energetic, and mental health. Many spend more time in a sympathetic state, to include children, which has sub-optimal implications on our individual and collective holistic well-being.
Our ability to flow between the parasympathetic (rest, digest, socialize) and sympathetic (activated) state appropriately to respond to our internal and external environments, is known as resilience, but for many our capacity is low due to our way of living and lack of support for the family unit.
By empowering you with knowledge and simple, powerful Somatic tools, I am to support you and your family in creating greater inner-peace and nourishing the family nervous system.
“The way we talk to our children becomes their inner-voice”

What Katie shared with me after was all absolutely true, and a helpful take away I can work with. I am still feeling shifting happening in my body the day after. I would highly recommend Katie to be part of your healing journey.
